9 Mar 2008 - THE ONLY WAY IS UP!!!!!!

is the new motto for Renfrew Burgh Band who booked their place at the National Finals in Harrogate in September by becoming the 4th Section Champions on Saturday.   The band gave a solid performance of the test piece which was enough to promote the band to the 3rd Section. For the second year, the band's Bb bass player - Graham Deacon - lifted the trophy for the Youngest Bb bass Player in the section.

As well as the players themselves, the band's conductor, David Hutcheson, deserves a huge thanks for all his time and efforts preparing the band for this.  Hopefully this result will renew the dedication of the players, giving David the necessary tools to make a mark at the National Finals.
