26 Jun 2008 - Concert @ St. John's
An Evening of Sweet Music
What a great night for all who attended our recent concert at St. John's Church in Gourock.
Audience and band members alike were treated to some outstanding performances including the angelic voices of the Gourock Primary School Choir.
The band performed a programme which appealed to young and old, while the soloists deserved extra cheers for their impeccable renditions of "Wanderin' Star", "Ave Maria" and "Ae Fond Kiss".
As well as the superb choir, a fine treat was to be heard in the performance of "Lyle Brass", a quintet of great young talent who oozed pizazz!
French horn soloist, Jenna Sloan stirred the emotions of the audience playing Saint Saens beautifully while our very own Andrew Mallon left us in sheer open-mouthed amazement at his multiphonic performance of "Fnugg". As the conductor put it.." Remember that name!"
A wonderful success indeed! The people of the St. John's offered us great chance to shine and we gratefully took it with both hands!
Roll on the next one!
