Congratulations to Renfrew cornet player Gary Speirs who has won this year's RSAMD Junior Academy Brass Prize! 

As well as studying trumpet at the Academy on Saturday mornings, Gary is principal trumpet with the highly successful Inverclyde Schools Concert Band.  The Concert Band are competing in the finals of the Scottish Concert Band Festival in March and the National Concert Band Festival in Birmingham following platinum and gold plus awards at an earlier stage.  We wish Gary and the Band well at both Festivals!

Gary attends Notre dame High School in Greenock and,  as well as his trumpet and cornet playing, always  finds time to  participate in his school show.  He is also a member of the Inverclyde Schools Senior Choir.
