Renfrew Burgh Band welcomes new chairperson

As the final weeks of 2025 draw near, we’re delighted to welcome Shona Jones as the new chairperson of Renfrew Burgh Band!

Shona, long-serving flugelhorn player with the band having first joined in 2007, formally took on the role at our recent AGM. It came after the decision by Myra Mack to step down from a position she has held since 2019.

Commenting, Shona said: “It’s an honour to be taking on the role of chairperson of the Renfrew Burgh Band, an organisation which is very close to my heart.

“I’d like to thank Myra for her unwavering dedication to the band. As a player and administrator, she has been a wonderful servant to the organisation and will always remain a part of the RBB family."

Shona added: “We’re very busy throughout the festive period and look forward to 2026, as Renfrew Burgh Band celebrates its 115th anniversary.”
